Afrojazz Quintet feat Charlotta Kerbs

The Finnish-African band Afrojazz Quintet, founded by the artist-musician Alvar Gullichsen, is known as the Afrojazz Clubs’ swinging husband in Helsinki. The band has had guest vocalists such as Jimi Tenor, Sam Huber, Sakari Kukko, Ismaila Sané and Meissa Niang. In 2018, Charlotta Kerbs joined as solo vocalist and the band recorded their first album "Bongo Jazz", which was released in the fall of 2019.

Afrojazz Quintet feat Charlotta Kerbs' music has its roots in West African rhythm music. In addition to their own songs, the Afrojazz Quintet performs a wide repertoire of West African world music, reggae, funk, soul and blues. The band is currently recording their second album supported by Svenska Kulturfonden. A single from the new album will be released in the autumn of 2021.
